Namibian by birth, Hein has resided in and around Durban (South Africa) since childhood. Hein has always been creative and expressed this initially through his hair-styling business. However, a fortuitous 50th-birthday present convinced Hein to explore painting as his creative outlet.
While he likes to explore many different styles and mediums, Hein always returns to his favourites - portraiture and wildlife.
Hein prefers not to be pigeonholed into a particular style, but constantly explores new ways to express himself in his paintings.
